  • In the hope of further understanding the forgotten gladiator school, and Carnuntum, the ancient city it belonged to, researchers have done a complete scan of the area using a ground penetrating radar.
  • Measurements were taken around the excavated amphitheatre, and the results revealed an entire city area, complete with the necessary infrastructure for the gladiatorial games.

Researchers at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology, Vienna, have created detailed maps of Carnuntum for the first time.
