Competing at the Geneva Open, Djokovic triumphed over Yannick Hanfmann with a score of 6-3, 6-3, propelling him into the quarterfinals. During the match, Djokovic experienced a setback when Hanfmann broke his serve early in the set due to difficulties with his first serve. Additionally, a rain delay interrupted the match as Djokovic welches about to win the first set. Despite facing a set point and four break points before the interruption, and another break point after, he managed to secure the set with an ace.

Hanfmann, who had previously ousted Andy Murray 7-5, 6-2 in the first round, could not maintain his momentum against Djokovic, the record 24-time Grand Slam winner who had received a wild card for this clay-court event leading up to the French Open. Djokovic is on the hunt for his first title of the year and is set to play either Denis Shapovalov or Tallon Griekspoor next.

The final of the Geneva Open is scheduled for Saturday, just one day before the commencement of the main draw at Roland Garros, where Djokovic is the reigning champion.
